Student Project
Two Phoenix elementary schools used Design Intuition to design these beautiful creations
Valley View Elementary School in Phoenix, Arizona

The arbors were designed and built by 20, 4-8th grade students at Valley View Elementary School in Phoenix, Arizona. The entire project included demolition of 3 existing planters, building of 6 benches, re-using the bricks from the planters for walkways to the benches, installation of drip irrigation, planting vines, and building 3 redwood arbors. The entire project took 13 weeks, working 3 hours/day.

Sunnyslope Elementary School in Phoenix, Arizona

The table is one of three built at Sunnyslope Elementary School in Phoenix, Arizona. Tables were designed and built by 18 7th grade students working 3 hours/day for 6 weeks. The students spent the first week learning about art and iconic furniture of the 20th century. Inspiration for the table came from works of Frank Lloyd Wright. A second table, of which I have no plans, was inspired by one of the works of George Nelson. I have included a picture of it as well.
I work as an artist in residence at a couple of schools in South Phoenix. We take on wood projects to beautify the schools. Please see the attached photos. Your product has allowed my students to move from 2-d to 3-d in their designs. The products have improved greatly since we have been using your program.
