3D Inside and Out
Draw it once, and you've drawn it in all views. Make an adjustment in one view, and it's made in all views. Isn't that what you'd expect a design program to do? And you can view your design in 3D, based on lightning-fast OpenGL software.
Immediacy
Whenever you change something, all related items are changed simultaneously. There's no waiting around. You see the impact of every change as you make it, everywhere you look. Open both a 2D and a 3D window of your design, then make some changes in the 2D view and see the change in the 3D view, live, as you make the change. The inspector changes, as well.
Our goal: all information you see can be trusted, all the time.
Simplicity
You don't need to understand deep and obscure idiosyncracies of Design Intuition to get your work done. A few key concepts (as few as possible) were combined to provide a powerful design tool. As your needs become more sophisticated, you can delve deeper into the manual, but you don't need to start there.
Integration
In Design Intuition , data of all kinds can be manipulated. Click on an object and you immediately get detailed information about that object. Type in a new size, directly into a dimension in your drawing, and see the effect without moving your attention away. Rename an object directly in the Materials list, where it often makes the most sense to organize the names of your project's components.
No separate installers or de-installer. It's all built-in. Also, Design Intuition automatically checks for you to see if a new version is available. And if you upgrade your license while visiting our website, Design Intuition will notice and automatically update the activation code stored on your computer; you don't need to re-enter it.
Forgiveness
Design Intuition is designed to be as forgiving as possible. Only a few of Design Intuition 's features demand a particular order of usage, which means you'll rarely paint yourself into a corner. You can, for example, design an entire kitchen (using smart objects, see below), realize your original room measurements were off, and then adjust the room's size. You may have to tweak the position and size of your cabinets; but, how many programs do you know that make it so easy? You also get infinite levels of undo and redo for anything you do.
Timely
Design Intuition supports a host of time-saving features. Unlike other programs, for example, which force you to first draw a box, then tediously add each and every dimension to it, Design Intuition takes care of that automatically, and keeps them accurate, no matter how much you change the object they measure. Every object also appears in the Materials list and the Cutting Diagram (of course, you always have a choice about this, as well).
Ergonomic
To carefully position the cursor using the mouse, little muscles in the fingers, wrist and lower arm contract and release. Do this for hours on end and these muscles fatigue. We don't like the feeling, so we designed Design Intuition to minimize the number of mouse clicks, and the number of hierarchal menus and the number of windows to open and the number of buttons to click required for all the most common tasks. This dramatically reduces the amount of wrist and finger muscle fatique. The user interface may at first seem cluttered. After you try it for a while, you'll see why buttons are located where they are located.
This is probably the most challenging of our goals, with so many different kinds of common tasks possible with Design Intuition .
Snappy
Objects automatically align to each other (Object Snap) and to the nearest precision grid line (Grid Snap). This relieves a lot of the tedium of aligning things. You also have a choice about this, in several ways.
Never Get Lost
Every object, every name, every color, every surface, every attribute, every edge, everything is easy to find, and easy to edit in Design Intuition . Controls and tools are right at hand, where you left them.
Smart Objects
A library of smart objects is available, from which you can create a variety of cabinetry, funiture and rudiments of remodeling. Stretch them to the shape you want. Some dimensions stay constant (eg, plywood thickness or leg thickness).
Each smart object contains attributes, which can easily be altered, either one object at a time, or many objects at once.
Authoring
Advanced users can author their own smart objects, using Design Intuition 's powerful built-in object authoring capabilities. You don't have to buy a separate authoring software toolkit, nor complex and tedious manuals. Authoring is based on basic algebra roughly on par with simple spreadsheets.
